The Boise community is mourning the tragic loss of Sterling Wolfgang “Wolf” Thomas, a 15-year-old boy who died following a devastating crash involving an electric bicycle and a motorcycle on the Boise Bench.
According to Boise police, the accident occurred around 8 p.m. on July 2 near the intersection of Phillippi Street and Morris Hill Road. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found Thomas suffering from life-threatening injuries. Despite efforts to save him both at the scene and after being transported to a nearby hospital, he sadly passed away a short time later.
Investigators reported that the motorcycle was traveling northbound while Thomas, who was riding a 750-watt electric bicycle with pedals, was heading westbound with a juvenile female passenger when the collision occurred. The young passenger sustained minor injuries and was hospitalized, while the adult motorcycle rider suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities from the Boise Police Criminal Investigation Division and the Crash Reconstruction Team temporarily closed the area to conduct a thorough investigation. At this time, no charges have been filed, and the investigation remains ongoing.
